So lotr was on tv last night. While watching the movie was got thinking and im sure everyone else here thought of the same thing.
what are their classes? I kind of figured everyone class except Aragorn. At first he seemed like a captain but then boromir used a horn and after that he called aragorn his captain and king. But during the movie he uses a bow, sword and shied, a halberd, and just about every weapon shown in the game. What does everyone else think?
what class is frodo and the hobbits? Oh and im not sure but i think Gimli (dwarf guy) is a guardian but i can be wrong.

Well, for one thing its kind of hard to quantify what classes in the game that the members Fellowship of the Ring are. The closest thing I've ever heard of was that Aragorn was close to a captain, Legolas was very nearly what hunters are, Gimli in all his dwarven awesomeness is like a Guardian, Boromir was totally a Champion... the silly bint was a sword and board Champ, but still a Champ... And as for the Ringbearer and his friends, they were all quite probably Burglars. And as well we all know Gandalf was a Wizard...

So this leads me to the argument that the Fellowship of the Ring was in fact (following game settinsg for Fellowships) not a true Fellowship... there were only five of them... A Champ, Hunter, Guard, Captain, and a Wizard (Which sorry to say Sael, trumps LMs... but more than makes up for the missing sixth ;P) as for the Hobbits... they were just four lowbie burgs that put the Fellowship on the BIGGEST escort quest ever!

I do think that Aragorn fits captain class best. Everyone feels better to have him around. I love playing with cappies...You know I think that Boromir is a Guard ( you know shield and protective thing)and Gimli seemed more like a Champ to me. Gimli's thing with counting his kills you know. I think the Loremaster is totally modeled after Gandalf. Granted I think Radagast is a bit closer to it. I think that the hobbits do split things like burgs and minis. I know they don't sing that much but thats what Sam did for Frodo. Morale booster you know.
On a whole though I think that some classes are just loosely based on the characters, so that there is room for creativity. In then end though, Fellowship = Awesome!

Funny I was actually just thinking about this very thing today so I have to give my 2 cents.

Legolas is probably the clearest class representation being a hunter: bow, dual-wielding blades, mass killing sprees...

I would say Aragorn is a capitain for sure, seeings as he boosts the morale of his companions and has awesome healing skills to boot. Everyone always wants to hang out with him.

I saw Boromir as a guardian what with the way he protected the little Hobbits, with a shield and one handed sword at that. Yeah he had a horn but it didn't stun anything. drunken

Gimli I was having a hard time deciding on. I tend to lean towards a champ because he always had several weapons, like a champ dual-wielding, but he wasn't so burly and capable of taking such a beating like Boromir.

Then the last class I was thinking about is lore master. I thought a LM totally had to be a wizard, and figured Radaghast was the best example, though he doesn't show in the movies. He always had a thing for pets and wild creatures...

That's a hard one since they really didn't have people like that in the movie. My best guess would be Elrond since Runekeepers are all about lore and, technically (by the way some of the skills are named), arguing. If anything, he fits because he is able to heal as well as do lots of damage. And in the movie he doesn't really pick up a sword or anything except for flashbacks.
